Psalm 102

Oct 5, 2025    Pastor Renee Hidalgo

In this message, we begin a new sermon series through the Psalms—starting with Psalm 102, a powerful and raw psalm of lament.

We often rush past sorrow and don’t know what to do with our pain. But the Psalms show us that God invites honesty. He welcomes our cries, our grief, our deepest questions.

Psalm 102 is described as “A prayer of an afflicted man. When he is faint and pours out his lament before the Lord.”

This message helps us learn that lament is not weakness—it’s worship. It’s a sacred, courageous act of bringing our full selves to God.

In this message, you will learn:

• That we can be fully honest with God in our pain

• That healing begins when we name and feel our sorrow

• That transformation comes when we intentionally call truth to mind

• That God can use our story—even the hardest parts—to bring hope to others

Key truth:

Healing can come through lament.
